After some blissful days, I’m finally off to Czech Republic. The last stop before I go to Cologne to attend a conference. Vienna has been amazing and I cannot wait to go back in the future. I hope by that time I could spend more time visiting museums or maybe witness an orchestra.
I did get the chance to experience Vienna a la Before Sunrise minus the romance although I had a “romantic” affair with food. I still remember how I had currywurst everyday for snacks and lunch. In addition, all those Sachertorte were just exquisite.
I could not leave Vienna without eating one of its classic dishes: Schnitzel.
The craziest part of the day was when I took the train to Prague. Being a first-timer, I followed every single step in the ticket. I had to stop in one station prior to boarding a train to Prague. It all looked easy. However, it got awry the moment the journey started. The first train was late so no doubt I was late as well to catch the connecting train and the platform was far ! I ran as fast as I could but when I arrived at the platform, it was also the same moment that the train doors closed.
As I’m in no rush, I went ahead and asked for another ticket (no charge) since it was not my fault that I miss the train. I got the ticket as soon as they confirmed the details. It was all good for me since I’m not in a hurry but I’ll never forget the moment, running in top speed with two bulky suitcases.
